Universal Requirements
These apply whether you're here for everyday driving or something extraordinary — and they're all we need to get you approved.
Valid Driver's License
A current, valid driver's license issued by any U.S. state. Must be in good standing — not suspended or revoked. International licenses accepted for luxury rentals with a passport.
Clean Background Check
We run a quick background screening to verify you're a responsible driver. We don't check credit scores — we check driving history and criminal background. Minor infractions aren't dealbreakers.
21+ Years of Age
You must be at least 21 years old to rent any vehicle from Signature. For the luxury collection, minimum age is 25 — standard for high-performance vehicle rentals.
Economy Rentals
- Background Check & License Verification
We run a background check and verify your driver's license. A clean driving record and valid license are what matter — not your credit score.
- First Week's Payment
Your first week's payment is simply your first week's rental rate — not an extra fee. Depending on your driving history, any deposit may be waived. Your payment goes directly toward your rental, not held separately.
- Proof of Income (Optional)
Not required for approval, but bank statements or recent pay stubs can speed things up. We use them to verify your ability to pay — not to judge how much you make.
Luxury Rentals
- Clean Driving Record
We require a clean driving history for high-performance vehicles. No recent major violations. Minor infractions are evaluated case by case — we're reasonable.
- First Week's Payment
You'll pay your first week of rental upfront to reserve the vehicle — this is simply your first week's rate, not an extra charge. Exact amount depends on the car and rental period. Deposit may be waived depending on driving history.
- Insurance Verification
Comprehensive insurance is included with every luxury rental, but we verify your personal auto insurance as a secondary layer. Most standard policies satisfy this requirement.
What Doesn't Matter
Most rental companies care about things that have nothing to do with how you'll drive or pay. Here's what we never ask for:

From Application to Approved
Here's what the timeline looks like for most applicants.
Fill Out the Application
Name, contact info, what you're looking for. Pick your vehicle preference — economy or luxury. No essay questions, no invasive digging. Just the basics so we know who you are and what you need.
We Review & Run Background Check
Once you submit, we kick off the background check and license verification immediately. Most come back within a few hours. If we need anything else from you, we'll reach out — but usually we don't.
You're Approved
Once everything clears, you'll get confirmation — usually the same day or by the next morning. We'll coordinate pickup or delivery. Economy renters can hit the road same-day. Luxury renters get a scheduled concierge handover.
Common Questions
What if I have a past driving infraction?
Minor infractions are usually fine — we evaluate on a case-by-case basis. We're looking for patterns of reckless behavior, not a speeding ticket from three years ago. If you're unsure, apply anyway — the worst we'll say is that we need more information.
I don't have a long credit history. Can I still apply?
Absolutely. We don't check credit scores — we verify your identity, driving record, and ability to pay. A thin credit file won't hold you back.
Why do I need to pay the first week upfront?

Can I rent if I'm not a U.S. citizen?
Yes — we accept valid foreign driver's licenses along with a passport for all rentals. Additional documentation may be required for verification purposes.
